Since I have received the grant, I have found a wonderful new job and have started the process necessary to be able to go back to school in the fall. I owe much of who I’ve become to WWIN. At a time in my life when I needed a little extra help, WWIN was there.

WWIN Grant Opening Dates & How to Apply

Information about the next grant opening dates (when applications or the call-in lines are available) are listed below.  There are different application procedures, depending on the grant.  Recorded information is also available at 425-451-8838.  Please read below for current information.  Please visit the FAQ page if you have further questions. Our office is not staffed to handle walk in queries.

Counseling

Mental Health Counseling grant application screenings are available every SECOND  Tuesday of the month (example:  Jan. 10, Feb. 14, and March 13) from 12pm-1pm.  During that time please call 425-451-8838 extension 305 to be connected to a trained volunteer who will ask questions to screen you for eligibility. You may need to call more than once to get through. The number of applications is limited, so if the available applications have already been given out by the time you call, the greeting will be changed to reflect the status.  If you appear to be eligible after the initial screening, WWIN will send you an application for you to fill out completely and promptly return.  Applications will only be available by this procedure.

Health Care Insurance Premiums

WWIN has given out all of our Insurance Premium grants until July 2012. Please check back closer to that time to find out how to apply.

Education.

Education Assistance grant applications will be available HERE on June 4th and 5th 2012.  The next Education Assistance grant opening will be to fund Fall 2012, Winter 2013, Spring 2013, and Summer 2013 terms.  The applications will be available on our website for  those two days only.  You will need to have been accepted to a school that accepts Federal Financial Aid and have filled out a FAFSA and received your award letter prior to applying. There will be one page of the application that your school will need to fill out so we recommend that you be on campus when you print out the application. Once received by WWIN, complete applications are processed on a first come first served basis.  If your application is processed, WWIN will call you on the telephone to do a phone screening. If you appear to be eligible after the initial screening you will need to come into our office in Bellevue for an in-person interview. Applications will only be available by this procedure. We also recommend that you sign up with TheWashBoard.org to learn if you might be eligible for additional scholarships and grants.
