Michelle Nitz, Executive Director

Michelle Nitz, Executive Director

Michelle joins WWIN with eighteen years of management experience in the non-profit and health care sectors, with unique expertise with health-related non-profit organizations.  She served as the Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Ventures for Overlake Hospital Medical Center and has a wealth of experience with operational management and strategic  planning.  For the past eight years she has worked in some very impressive Founding or Interim Executive Director roles in the non-profit arena, including the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, and the Science and Management of Addictions (SAMA) and Schools for Spectrum Foundation. Michelle holds a Bachelors of Science Degree from University of Cincinnati and a Masters in Health Services Administration from Xavier University.

 

Bruce Wood, Fund Development Director

Bruce Wood, Fund Development Director
Bruce brings to WWIN over two decades of successful business management in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors.  A local Seattle University with a BA in Business Administration, Bruce has spent the past 13 years in development activities, most recently as Development Director for Cancer Lifeline and previously as the Executive Director of the Pike Market Senior Center/Downtown Food Bank.

Kathryn Schumaker, Program Manager
Kathryn  is passionate about her work with low income and marginalized populations and has worked in the counseling and social services field for over 15 years as a volunteer, an intern, and a therapist. Kathryn has an art psychotherapy practice  and owns and operates a small restaurant in downtown Seattle. She is proud to be a part of the WWIN family and looks forward to long-term collaboration and development within her role in Programs.

Kristin McCurdy, Program Manager
After a 15-year, highly successful career as an architect, Kristin decided to turn her full attention to her true passion: helping others. She earned a graduate degree in mental health counseling and art therapy from Antioch University (while working full time and having a baby!), which included a month-long internship in Peru working with special needs children. Kristin has always had a bent toward service; over the years she has volunteered with Habitat Humanity and HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youth), mentored high school students interested in studying architecture, and tutored low-income youth in Chicago. Most recently, she has begun her own private art therapy practice in Seattle in addition to becoming a valuable member of the WWIN team.

Monique Scher, Operations Manager
Monique is the newest addition to the WWIN team.
