Deborah Cushing, Executive Director: dcushing@wawomeninneed.org
Deborah has been Executive Director of WWIN since 2006. Prior to devoting her time to the nonprofit world Deborah worked (for 15 years) as an attorney in the area of public law and municipal finance including at the Perkins Coie law firm in Seattle.
Upon retiring from the practice of law she obtained a masters degree in nonprofit leadership from Seattle University and continued her extensive volunteer work on behalf of low income families, including children in the foster care system, as well as working on urban issues including as executive director of the Pioneer Square Community Development Organization.
Bruce Wood, Fund Development Director: wwinfund@wawomeninneed.org
Bruce brings to WWIN over two decades of successful business management in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. He is a local Seattle University graduate having earned his BA in Business Administration and has spent the past 13 years in development activities – most recently as Development Director for Cancer Lifeline and previously as the Executive Director of the Pike Market Senior Center/Downtown Food Bank.
Marisa Hancock, Program Manager: programs@wawomeninneed.org
Marisa shares the Program Manager position. She is committed to working with marginalized and underprivileged populations, and has worked in the human services field in Washington for ten years. She has specialized experience with clinical case management and counseling, and is also a therapist in her life outside of WWIN. She is thrilled to be a part of the amazing work that WWIN does!
Kathryn Schumaker, Program Manager: programs@wawomeninneed.org
Kathryn co-pilots the Programs office with Marisa. She is passionate about her work with low income and marginalized populations and has worked in the counseling and social services field for over 15 years as a volunteer, an intern, and a therapist. Kathryn has an art psychotherapy practice in Pioneer Square and owns and operates a small restaurant in downtown Seattle. She is proud to be a part of the WWIN family and looks forward to long term collaboration and development within her role in Programs.
Sue Willey, Office Manager/Bookkeeper: wwininfo@wawomeninneed.org
Sue has extensive experience in the non-profit world. She spent over twenty years at Kindering, a neurodevelopmental center in Bellevue, where her responsibilities over time included bookkeeping, office management, building operations and human resources management. She is also a founding/current Board member of LifeSPAN (Lifetime Secure Personal Assistance Network), a nonprofit which works with families with a relative with disabilities to plan for the future.
Deena Stricker, Fund Development Assistant: developmentassist@wawomeninneed.org
Prior to joining WWIN, Deena was executive administrator for International Smile Power Foundation. Deena has over 25 years of experience in administrative and customer service related positions including as a front office manager in a dental office in Issaquah as well as 16 years at Associated Grocers in various positions including Worker’s Compensation Specialist.
